Keepp is a local-first desktop app. Your photos, videos, and the catalog Keepp builds about them stay on your computer.
We don't upload them, we don't have a server that holds them, and we don't have a way to look at them.
What stays on your device
- •All scanned media files (we never copy them off your machine).
- •The SQLite catalog and thumbnails (under %APPDATA%/com.keepp.app/).
- •Face embeddings, scene labels, and similarity hashes.
- •Your manual tags, people names, and recipes.
What does touch the internet
Checkout & payments
Purchases are processed by Stripe. Stripe collects your name, billing email, billing address, and payment method — we never see or store your card number, CVV, or bank details. We receive your email, purchased plan, and order reference so we can issue your license key.
License activation/validation
When you activate Keepp, the app sends your license key and a hostname (used as the device label) to our license server to validate activation limits. No photos, videos, or catalog data are included.
Place-name lookup
Via Nominatim/OpenStreetMap, only when you turn it ON in Settings. GPS coordinates leave your device to receive city/country labels. No personally identifying info is included.
Auto-updater
Pings updates.keepp.app on launch to check for a newer version. We log only the requested target/arch/version (no user identifier).
Your data rights
For payment and billing data held by Stripe, contact Stripe directly: stripe.com/contact/privacy. For license or order questions, email us at [email protected] — we respond within 30 days. You may also lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.
