Keepp is a local-first desktop app. Your photos, videos, and the catalog Keepp builds about them stay on your computer.
We don't upload them, we don't have a server that holds them, and we don't have a way to look at them.
What stays on your device
- •All scanned media files (we never copy them off your machine).
- •The SQLite catalog and thumbnails (under %APPDATA%/com.keepp.app/).
- •Face embeddings, scene labels, and similarity hashes.
- •Your manual tags, people names, and recipes.
What does touch the internet
License activation/validation
We use Lemon Squeezy for licensing. We send your license key and a hostname (used as the device label) to api.lemonsqueezy.com.
Place-name lookup
Via Nominatim/OpenStreetMap, only when you turn it ON in Settings. GPS coordinates leave your device to receive city/country labels. No personally identifying info is included.
Auto-updater
Pings updates.keepp.app on launch to check for a newer version. We log only the requested target/arch/version (no user identifier).
Your data rights
Because the personal data we hold about you (as a customer) lives only at Lemon Squeezy, requests under GDPR / CCPA should be addressed to them directly, with us in copy at [email protected].
